about the panel\u2019s membership and last-minute actions that could see Covid-19 and influenza vaccines thrown into question.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Her letter came hours after Sen. Bill Cassidy, the top Republican on the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee, called for officials to postpone the vaccine meeting amid concerns it could further erode Americans\u2019 confidence in vaccine safety.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcahi15200003b6m12f6ysi6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Kennedy appeared Tuesday morning before the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee to testify on the administration\u2019s proposed 2026 budget. The hearing began with committee Democrats also questioning his ACIP actions.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcamr4c3000c3b6mpfwz1eup@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            The dismissal of the ACIP members makes clear that Kennedy does not intend to uphold a commitment he made to senators during the confirmation process that he would not take away Americans\u2019 access to vaccines, said Rep. Frank Pallone, a Democrat from New Jersey.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcamrmwb000e3b6mvyl0w8uj@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Pallone, the highest-ranking Democrat on the committee, called for Kennedy to appear before the panel again \u201cvery soon\u201d for an oversight hearing on the \u201cunprecedented and troubling chaos\u201d created around the vaccine panel and vaccine access.    <\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph-elevate inline-placeholder vossi-paragraph\" data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmcamqjgp000a3b6mt3v0c5q6@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">            Kennedy defended firing the 17 vaccine committee members, saying they had conflicts of interest with the pharmaceutical industry. \u201cThat committee has been the template for medical malpractice,\u201d he said.
